Pink Hatch
Cinematic bokeh on today's photo. On-device. Private.
Pick a photo. Pink Hatch renders shallow depth-of-field blur using Apple's Core Image CIBokehBlur filter so the background dissolves into soft circles of light. Tune the radius, ring amount, and softness until the look is right. By December, your daily hatches form a wall of cinematic portraits.
How it works
- Open Pink Hatch once a day. Pick today's photo through Apple's system PhotosPicker.
- Move the radius, ring amount, and softness sliders. The bokeh updates live on-device.
- Save. The source photo, the rendered bokeh, and your slider values are kept on-device.
- Open the app late in the year to see and export a wall of every daily hatch.
What stays on your device
- No accounts, no email, no signup.
- No analytics, no third-party SDKs.
- Photos are read only through Apple's system PhotosPicker, which means you pick each one by hand.
- Core Image renders the bokeh on-device. The photo never leaves your phone.
- Entries are stored on-device with SwiftData. Nothing is uploaded.
- The only network calls Pink Hatch makes are to Apple's StoreKit when you choose to subscribe or buy Lifetime.
