Privacy Policy

Short version

Pink Chord lets you type a one-line mood once a day and turns it into a 5–7 song playlist by combining Apple MusicKit's catalog search and personalized recommendations with a short caption written on-device by Apple's Foundation Models (or your own line, on devices without Apple Intelligence). Song identifiers, titles, and artist names from MusicKit, plus the mood you typed and the caption, are saved on your device. There are no accounts of our own, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs that contact a server we operate. The only network calls the app makes are to Apple MusicKit and to Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases.

Who we are

Pink Chord is published by Danielius Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company at 30 N Gould St, Suite #5280, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (“we”, “us”).

Data we do NOT collect

• No account, no email, no password — the app has no signup.
• No analytics, no telemetry, no event tracking.
• No advertising identifiers (no IDFA, no fingerprinting).
• No usage data sent off the device.
• No microphone, no camera. Pink Chord never opens the camera or records audio.
• No location, no contacts, no calendar.
• No HealthKit, no Health data.
• Pink Chord does NOT download music files. Songs are referenced by identifier and played through your Apple Music account when you tap a track.

Apple Music permission

Pink Chord requests access to Apple Music (the NSAppleMusicUsageDescription permission) so it can call MusicKit to request personalized song recommendations based on the one-line mood you typed. You need an active Apple Music subscription for the recommendations and playback to work.

MusicKit queries are sent to Apple's music services. Apple may use the query and your Apple Music history to shape recommendations and may share usage signals consistent with Apple's privacy policy for Apple Media Services. We do not see your library, listening history, or any Apple Music account details beyond the recommendations Apple returns to the app.

What stays on your device

• Your chord entries (the one-line mood you typed, the song identifiers, titles, and artist names MusicKit returned for that mood, the short caption (written on-device by Apple's Foundation Models, or your own line), and the created-at timestamp). Stored in on-device SwiftData.
• The date the app was first launched (used to time the three-day no-strings free window). Stored in UserDefaults.
• Your latest mood and its first song, for the widget. Stored in an App Group container on your device.
• If you allow reminders, the time of day you usually open the app, so a few tips and reminders arrive at a good moment in your first week. They are scheduled on your device and nothing is sent to us.

All of the above is stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes everything Pink Chord has stored.

On-device language model (Apple Intelligence)

The short caption attached to each chord is generated by Apple's on-device Foundation Models, accessed through the public LanguageModelSession API on iOS 26. The model executes on your iPhone's Neural Engine. The mood you typed is passed to the model in-process, and the search words the model picks go to Apple Music to find the songs. Pink Chord does not use Apple's Private Cloud Compute fallback for this feature.

Caption generation is available only on Apple Intelligence-capable devices running iOS 26 (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, or newer with the A17 Pro chip or later). On other devices the chord still saves with the mood and the songs; the songs are found by sending your exact words to Apple Music, and the caption is your own line.

Year playlist

Pink Chord's year playlist lists every chord you have saved, inside the app. It is built on your device from your saved chords, and nothing is added to your Apple Music library. Nothing about your year is uploaded to a server we operate.

Lock Screen widget

Pink Chord includes a Lock Screen and Home Screen widget that shows your latest mood and its first song. The app writes those two lines to an App Group container on your device when you save a chord, and the widget reads only them. Nothing is sent off the device for the widget to function.

In-app purchases

If you choose to subscribe (Monthly, Annual) or buy the Lifetime unlock, that transaction is handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and shares only the receipt with the app so we can verify your entitlement. We never see your card number, billing address, or any personal information beyond Apple's opaque transaction identifier.

Subscription receipts are stored on-device by iOS and used to validate your entitlement when you re-open the app. They are not sent to any server we operate.

Family Sharing

Pink Chord Pro purchases (Monthly, Annual, Lifetime) are Family-Shareable through Apple's standard Family Sharing mechanism. Apple handles eligibility checks; we do not see who is in your family group.

Children

Pink Chord is rated 4+ in the App Store. Because the app collects no data at all on our side, it complies with COPPA and similar children's-privacy regulations by design.

Your rights

Because Pink Chord does not collect data, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. To revoke Apple Music access, use iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Media & Apple Music. To remove all on-device state, delete the app.

Changes

If we ever introduce a feature that involves any data leaving the device to a server we operate (for example, cloud sync or sharing), this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. For v1.0, no such feature exists.
