Short version

Pink Beat records 15 to 30 seconds of ambient sound once a day. On iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro and newer, the recording uses iOS 26 spatial-audio capture so it can be played back with head-tracked AirPods Pro. On older devices, a standard stereo AAC fallback is used. The audio file lives on your device and never leaves it. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs that contact a server. The only network calls the app makes are to Apple's StoreKit when you choose to subscribe or unlock the Lifetime tier.

Who we are

Pink Beat is published by Danielius Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company at 30 N Gould St, Suite #5280, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (“we”, “us”).

Data we do NOT collect

Microphone permission

Pink Beat requests microphone access (the NSMicrophoneUsageDescription permission) so that the AVAudioSession capture pipeline can record ambient sound. The permission is used only during the 15 to 30 seconds of an active recording session that you start by tapping the record button.

On iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro and newer, recording uses iOS 26 spatial-audio capture so the file carries the directional metadata required for head-tracked playback through AirPods Pro. On older devices, recording falls back to standard stereo AAC. In both cases the file is saved as a local .m4a or .caf(roughly 150 to 300 KB per soundscape) inside the app's private container.

Pink Beat does NOT keep the microphone open in the background, does NOT listen between sessions, does NOT run any voice activity detection, and does NOT process the audio with any on-device or remote speech model.

AirPods Pro head-tracked playback

When you play back a spatial soundscape, iOS routes audio to AirPods Pro and renders the spatial mix using the head-tracking data exposed at the system level. Pink Beat itself does not read motion data from AirPods, does not access the CMHeadphoneMotionManager stream, and does not collect any data about your AirPods or your head position. Spatial playback is a system experience that consumes the spatial metadata already inside the audio file.

What stays on your device

All of the above lives on your device and never leaves it. Uninstalling the app deletes everything Pink Beat has stored.

Year archive export

Pink Beat Pro can compose a year of saved soundscapes into a single archive bundle for personal listening. The composition is built on-device from the locally stored audio files. The archive is written to the app's private container; you choose whether to share it via the system share sheet, and nothing is uploaded to any server we operate.

Lock Screen widget

Pink Beat Pro includes a Lock Screen widget that shows today's soundscape count and the timestamp of the most recent entry. The widget reads only those two values from an App Group container on your device. No audio is played on the Lock Screen and nothing is sent off the device for the widget to function.

In-app purchases

If you choose to subscribe (Monthly, Annual) or buy the Lifetime unlock, that transaction is handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and shares only the receipt with the app so we can verify your entitlement. We never see your card number, billing address, or any personal information beyond Apple's opaque transaction identifier.

Subscription receipts are stored on-device by iOS and used to validate your entitlement when you re-open the app. They are not sent to any server we operate.

Family Sharing

Pink Beat Pro purchases (Monthly, Annual, Lifetime) are Family-Shareable through Apple's standard Family Sharing mechanism. Apple handles eligibility checks; we do not see who is in your family group.

Children

Pink Beat is rated 4+ in the App Store. Because the app collects no data at all, it complies with COPPA and similar children's-privacy regulations by design.

Your rights

Because Pink Beat does not collect data, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. To revoke microphone permission, use iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. To remove all on-device state, delete the app.

Changes

If we ever introduce a feature that involves any data leaving the device (for example, cloud sync or sharing), this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. For v1.0, no such feature exists.
