Short version
Pink Vista is a personal scene journal. Once a day, you tap a button and the app saves Apple's Look Around scene at your current location as a journal entry. The app uses Core Location only at the moment of your tap — there is no background location, no passive tracking, no “always allow” permission. Captured entries (coordinates, placemark name, a flag for whether Look Around imagery is available, and a timestamp) live on your device in SwiftData. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers we operate. The only network calls the app makes are to Apple's MapKit (MKLookAroundSceneRequest) when you tap Capture, and to Apple's StoreKit when you choose to subscribe or unlock the Lifetime tier.
Who we are
Pink Vista is published by Danielius Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company at 30 N Gould St, Suite #5280, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (“we”, “us”).
Data we do NOT collect
- No account, no email, no password — the app has no signup.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no event tracking.
- No advertising identifiers (no IDFA, no fingerprinting).
- No usage data sent off the device.
- No background location and no passive tracking. The app does not request “Always Allow” and never reads your location while it is closed or in the background.
- No microphone, no camera, no photos library access.
- No contacts, no calendar, no HealthKit.
- No on-device or cloud language model. The app does no LLM processing.
Location: how and when
Pink Vista requests NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription (“While Using the App”) only. When you tap the Capture button, the app makes a one-shot location request, reads the current coordinate, hands it to MapKit to fetch the Look Around scene, and immediately stops location services. No continuous updates, no significant-change monitoring, no region monitoring, no geofencing.
If you deny the permission, the app still works for browsing past entries; only the Capture action is unavailable until you grant it.
What stays on your device
- Look Around journal entries: latitude, longitude, placemark name (e.g. neighborhood or street the system geocoder returns), a flag indicating whether Look Around coverage was available at that point, and the capture timestamp. Stored in on-device SwiftData.
- The date the app was first launched (used to time the three-day no-strings free window). Stored in
UserDefaults. - Whether the day-three gift screen has been acknowledged.
All of the above lives on your device and never leaves it. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
Apple Look Around imagery
When you tap Capture, the app sends only the device coordinate to Apple Maps via MKLookAroundSceneRequest. Apple returns scene data if Look Around imagery is available at that point. We do not receive a copy of the imagery and we do not store imagery on our servers. Your use of Look Around is subject to Apple Maps and MapKit's own terms.
If Look Around is not available at your coordinate, the app still saves the entry as a scene-less placemark so your journal stays continuous.
In-app purchases
If you choose to subscribe (Monthly, Annual) or buy the Lifetime unlock, that transaction is handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and shares only the receipt with the app so we can verify your entitlement. We never see your card number, billing address, or any personal information beyond Apple's opaque transaction identifier.
Subscription receipts are stored on-device by iOS and used to validate your entitlement when you re-open the app. They are not sent to any server we operate.
Free tier is 3 scenes lifetime. Pro unlocks unlimited scenes, a year-scrollable feed PDF map export, and the Lock Screen widget.
Family Sharing
Pink Vista Pro purchases (Monthly, Annual, Lifetime) are Family-Shareable through Apple's standard Family Sharing mechanism. Apple handles eligibility checks; we do not see who is in your family group.
Children
Pink Vista is rated 4+ in the App Store. Because the app collects no data at all, it complies with COPPA and similar children's-privacy regulations by design.
Your rights
Because Pink Vista does not collect data, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. To revoke all access and remove all on-device state, simply delete the app.

Changes
If we ever introduce a feature that involves any data leaving the device (for example, cloud sync or sharing entries with friends), this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. For v1.0, no such feature exists.
