Privacy Policy

Short version

Pink Tone is a voice-to-art app. You speak for up to thirty seconds, Apple's on-device speech recognition transcribes what you said, and, with Apple Intelligence, Image Playground paints a painterly image from that transcript. The audio, the transcribed text, and the generated image are stored only on your device. From iOS 27, when Apple Intelligence makes an image, Apple may process your prompt on its Private Cloud Compute servers; Apple says these requests are not stored. Pink Tone itself has no servers. Pink Tone uses on-device speech recognition only and never sends your audio to Apple's Speech cloud or to any server we operate. The only network calls the app itself makes are to Apple's StoreKit when you choose to subscribe or unlock the Lifetime tier.

Who we are

Pink Tone is published by Danielius Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company at 30 N Gould St, Suite #5280, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (“we”, “us”).

Data we do NOT collect

• No account, no email, no password — the app has no signup.
• No analytics, no telemetry, no event tracking.
• No advertising identifiers (no IDFA, no fingerprinting).
• No usage data sent off the device.
• No cloud transcription. Pink Tone never sends your audio to Apple's Speech servers or any third-party transcription service. On-device mode is required.
• No camera, no photos library read, no contacts, no calendar.
• No location, no HealthKit, no Health data.

Permissions the app requests

• Microphone (NSMicrophoneUsageDescription) — required to record the up-to-thirty-second voice clip that becomes the prompt for your painted image.
• Speech Recognition (NSSpeechRecognitionUsageDescription) — required for on-device transcription. Pink Tone configures the recognizer with on-device mode enforced; if on-device recognition is not available on your device, the feature is disabled rather than falling back to cloud transcription.

What stays on your device

• Voice art entries (the transcribed text, the generated image stored as external SwiftData data, an optional saved audio clip filename, the duration in seconds, and the creation date). Stored in on-device SwiftData.
• Audio is recorded to a temporary file on your device for transcription. When you save, the recording is kept as the entry's voice note; when you cancel or record again, the unsaved recording is deleted and is not recoverable.
• The date the app was first launched (used to time the three-day no-strings free window). Stored in UserDefaults.
• Whether the introductory cards have been seen.
• If you allow reminders, the time of day you usually open the app, so a few tips and reminders arrive at a good moment in your first week. They are scheduled on your device and nothing is sent to us.

All of the above is stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

On-device speech recognition

Pink Tone uses Apple's on-device speech recognition exclusively: SFSpeechRecognizer with requiresOnDeviceRecognition set to true. The audio is processed on your iPhone and is never transmitted to Apple Speech cloud servers or to any server we operate.

If on-device speech recognition is not available on your device or for your selected language, your words are not written down rather than sent to a cloud path; you can still save the voice note.

Image generation (Apple Intelligence)

The painting step uses Apple's Image Playground sheet on iOS 26 and later, with your transcript as the prompt. On iOS 26, Image Playground makes the image on your device. From iOS 27, when Apple Intelligence makes an image, Apple may process your prompt on its Private Cloud Compute servers; Apple says these requests are not stored. Pink Tone itself has no servers. The generated image returns to the app and is saved to your on-device SwiftData store.

Paintings are available only on Apple Intelligence-capable devices (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, or newer) running iOS 26 or later. On other devices, recording, transcripts and voice notes still work, without the painting.

In-app purchases

Everything in Pink Tone is unlocked for your first 3 days; after that, you can save up to three entries in total for free. If you choose to subscribe (Monthly, Annual) or buy the Lifetime unlock for unlimited entries, that transaction is handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and shares only the receipt with the app so we can verify your entitlement. We never see your card number, billing address, or any personal information beyond Apple's opaque transaction identifier.

Subscription receipts are stored on-device by iOS and used to validate your entitlement when you re-open the app. They are not sent to any server we operate.

Family Sharing

Pink Tone Pro purchases (Monthly, Annual, Lifetime) are Family-Shareable through Apple's standard Family Sharing mechanism. Apple handles eligibility checks; we do not see who is in your family group.

Children

Pink Tone is rated 4+ in the App Store. Because the app collects no data at all, it complies with COPPA and similar children's-privacy regulations by design.

Your rights

Because Pink Tone does not collect data, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. To revoke all access and remove all on-device state, including saved transcripts, generated images, and any retained audio clips, simply delete the app.

Changes

If we ever introduce a feature that involves any data leaving the device (for example, cloud sync or shared galleries), this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. For v1.0, no such feature exists.
