Pink Roost

How it works

1. Tap the capture button on the Home screen.
2. Snap a photo of what you spotted. Camera permission required.
3. Type the species name, or leave it blank for “unknown”.
4. Tap Save. Pink Roost requests your location once and attaches latitude, longitude, and accuracy to the sighting. Location is optional; sightings save without it if you decline.
5. At year end, open the year view for a printable species list and a map of every spot you logged.

What stays on your device

• No accounts, no email, no signup.
• No analytics, no third-party SDKs.
• Photos are compressed to JPEG and stored in on-device SwiftData with @Attribute(.externalStorage). They do NOT save to your iCloud Photo Library.
• Location is requested once per save via CLLocationManager.requestLocation(). Pink Roost never polls in the background.
• The only network calls Pink Roost makes are to Apple's StoreKit when you choose to subscribe or buy Lifetime.

Pricing

Pink Roost is free for your first three sightings, then Pro unlocks unlimited entries, the year species list and map PDF export, and the Lock Screen widget showing today's most recent sighting:

• Pro Monthly: $4 / month, with a 14-day free intro on the first subscription.
• Pro Annual: $25 / year.
• Pro Lifetime: $59 one-time.

All purchases are handled by Apple and managed under your Apple ID. Pro is Family-Shareable through Apple's standard Family Sharing.

Respect wildlife

Pink Roost is a personal log, not a survey tool. Do not harass, bait, or chase animals to get a photo, and do not enter protected or private land without permission. Local and federal wildlife laws apply to your conduct in the field.

To restore a purchase on a new device, open Pink Roost, open the paywall from Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Apple will re-verify your Apple ID's entitlements.

To cancel an auto-renewing subscription, open the Settings app on iPhone, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Pink Roost Pro.
