Introducing: Samphire

Green, salty and a little peppery. A fig leaf on a cold pier.

A leading example of what a small perfume house can be.
The Salt Ledger

The quotes and the names of the papers are fictional, written for this concept.

Scent finder

Not sure where to begin?

Three questions, one scent. Nothing you pick leaves this page.

Two hands rinsing samphire, gorse flowers and fig leaves in a stone sink beside a small glass still

Slow distillation

Picked in the morning, in the still by noon.

Every plant is cut by hand within a day's walk of the studio. We distil small and slow, and only once, so the top note is still a leaf when it reaches you.

Pale sand dunes with marram grass and a row of round black caps half sunk in the sand

Back to the ground

A cap that outlasts nothing.

Most packaging outlives the perfume inside it by centuries. Our caps are pressed from dune grass and turn back into soil. The glass is thick, refillable and worth keeping.
